iPhone 5 Release Date might be most buzzing topic among tech geeks. Each day is rising with a new rumor or a speculative guess about iPhone 5 launch date. CNET UK, a top internet review site for electronics, has grabbed attention of the techies posting update on iPhone 5 release date. What is the reason behind releasing iPhone 5 in September?
Apple recently announced iOS 5 at WWDC 2011 which is packed with new cool features, including Android’s drop-down menu style notification. iOS 5 will be released in the autumn, more specifically in September. Furthermore, Apple brings new generation iPods and iPod Touches in September. However, according to CNET UK, iPods are not enough glamorous to bring iOS 5 into the world. iOS 5 and iPhone 5 both will be the perfect platforms for each other.
That is the reason why we are expecting to see iPhone 5 release with iOS 5, in the autumn. We already assumed that Apple doesn’t want to release iPhone 5 until iOS 5 is completely ready which is somewhat similar to CNET UK’s prediction. Here is what we predicted.
Why CNET UK has assumed Wednesday 7 September 2011 as the iPhone 5 launch date? Since 2005, Apple has been launching iPods in September on the first Wednesday after Labor Day. There were some exceptions in the past, though the Wednesday has proven Apple’s a regular favorite day.

NPD: Mobile accounts for half of digital game downloads
NPD has released a report that cites mobile games as a big driver for digital downloads overall. Digital game consumption has been growing in leaps and bounds lately, and according to the latest report, nearly half of all of those digital game downloads come from mobile game platforms, of which, we already know, the iOS platform makes up a huge part. Of course, iOS and the App Store can't be given credit for all of the digital game download trend -- while the App Store certainly has its share of popularity, there are other platforms, such as Xbox Live, Steam and Nintendo's WiiWare and DSiWare, that are also driving game downloads forward. But Apple's App Store is still the mobile standard, and given that many people downloading apps are people who don't necessarily own other consoles or may not have downloaded apps before, iTunes is one avenue for the growing trend of purchasing games and other software.

Apple gains further ground as Nokia, RIM slip
Apple saw its share of the global smartphone market continue to climb in the first quarter, closing the gap on market-leader Nokia Corp., according to data from IDC. In a report Thursday, IDC said Apple ended the first quarter with 18.7% of the global smartphone market, up from 16.1% in the fourth quarter. The growth came as the company expanded its popular iPhone into new carriers such as Verizon Wireless. Nokia saw its own share of the market slip further, to 24.3% from 28% in the fourth quarter. The Finnish cellphone maker is undergoing a massive restructuring effort and is expected to launch new smartphones using the Windows Phone 7 operating system from Microsoft Corp. sometime next year.
Overall smartphone shipments jumped nearly 80% from last year’s first quarter. Shipments hit nearly 100 million units for the quarter, IDC said.
“Conditions in the smartphone market are creating a perfect storm for sustained smartphone growth,” senior analyst Ramon Llamas said in the report.
Llamas cited a widening range of available devices as key to the growth, with more models available in the mid- to low-ranges. And pricing has become increasingly competitive in the space, he said.
Research In Motion Ltd., maker of the BlackBerry, saw its global market share slip to 14% from 14.5% in the fourth quarter. The company surprised investors last week by lowering its guidance for the May quarter, as sales of high-end devices slow and emerging markets began slowing down orders.
Growing popularity of the Android mobile platform from Google Inc. helped vendors Samsung and HTC Corp. pick up share in the first quarter.
Samsung went to 10.8% from 9.6% in the fourth quarter, thanks to strong demand for its Galaxy line of smartphones. HTC grew from 8.5% in the fourth quarter to 8.9%

Apple iOS 4.3.3 is now out, fixes location tracking issue
It seems like only yesterday that we were saying iOS 4.3.3 was going to come out soon to fix that pesky location tracking issue for the iPhone. Oh wait, it was two days ago, and just like that the update is available via iTunes. So if you’re terribly worried about your iPhone tracking you and caching and backing up that unencrypted information on your computer, you can fix that by updating now. And if you’ve been living under a rock, perhaps this might all be news to you. Well, for quite some time Apple had been allowing the iPhone and iPad 3G to record its location information and the time at which the phone or tablet was at the location. Apple denied tracking its users, which was brilliant spin since that aspect of it was only incidental, but it clarified what it’d do to make everyone happy — release an update that would give users an option to shut off GPS/location data, and it would encrypt that data if it was on.
So it’s out now. Go and get ‘em.

No Apple iPhone 5 in June or July says AT&T rep
Rumors have been circulating regarding the release date – or at least a release time frame – for the iPhone 5, and they all seem to agree that the next iteration of the iPhone won’t be coming this summer. Initial rumors put the release some time around fall this year, and a few others speculated that it might not become available until next year. This time around, an AT&T customer care representative seems to have knowledge of the situation as the carrier and its reps have been informed of the matter directly by Apple:
Apple has informed us that they do not plan to release the iPhone in the June to July timeframe, though there will be a newer version in the future. Unfortunately, we have not been given a release time for the new phone. We will release this information on our website when it is available to us.
That was a response given to an AT&T customer who decided to contact AT&T regarding the push of his upgrade eligibility date five months further than the original date. What an AT&T customer care rep would know about iPhone 5 launch details, I have no idea. I’m a bit skeptical of this because customer care representatives are usually last to know anything. When it comes to Apple’s plans, there is really only one way to find out about them — wait.
If Apple plans on announcing anything regarding an iPhone 5 launch this summer, we’d expect it to happen a month from now at WWDC 2011. I’d say it’s a pretty good gauge as to whether the device will launch this summer, or perhaps Apple will drop the news that it’s holding off until fall or next year. Who knows. But with WWDC just a few short weeks away, I’d expect rumors to continue mounting until then.

White iPhone 4 Finally Arrives
We knew it was supposed to happen Thursday, but it’s still hard to believe our eyes. After an extended period of downtime, the white iPhone 4 is finally available in Apple’s online store. The device should also become available in Apple retail stores when they open later today, as well as AT&T and Verizon Wireless stores and at select Apple authorized resellers.
The price and functionality of the white iPhone 4 is exactly the same as the black version, but the thrill of finally having the often delayed device should be enough to prompt quite a few customers to spend their hard-earned cash.
Bear in mind that the shipping time for the black iPhone 4 is within 24 hours, while the white version ships in three to five business days.

AT&T Confirms Hotspot Support for iPhone 4
At its iPad 2 event Wednesday, Apple announced the new version of its iOS mobile platform, iOS 4.3, which brings hotspot support to iPhone 4. Now, AT&T has confirmed its support and announced the pricing for the feature. According to AT&T spokesman Mark Siegel, AT&T will charge $20 per month — the same fee it now charges for wireless hotspot usage, with a 4GB data cap in place. This fee is separate from the Data Pro fee that comes with the device and costs $25 per month.

This is Apple. They will release a new version of their product every year if they think it will sell. So what kind of features can we expect in a theoretical iPhone 5?

Japanese Woman Sells iPhone Gingerbreads for $33 Each
Kumiko Kudo, a 44 year old owner of the Green Gables bakery in Japan sells iPhone gingerbreads/cookies for a hefty price of 2,730 yen which is roughly $33. The cookie is 12 cm long, and 6 cm wide.She can only make 20 iPhone cookies a day, since the button icing and chocolate is applied manually and takes some time to finish. 20 cookies a day for $33 each. Make those 5 days a week for a whole month and you make $13,200!

Apple Confirms White iPhone 4 for Spring 2011
New sings around Apple Store in the US has a text “The white iPhone 4 will be available spring 2011″ on them. Previous rumors told that Apple actually killed the whole white iPhone 4, but this now brings new life for it. Let’s see if they this time can actually release it, or if they’ll again postpone it.

Apple Ups Q1 Shipment Expectation to 21 Million Units
According to Taiwanese components suppliers, Apple will ship 21 million iPhone 4s in Q1 2011. This is up from 19 million that they expected to ship earlier. The regular iPhone 4 makes 14-15 million, while the CDMA iPhone makes the remaining 5-6 million.

Verizon Wireless is currently testing a CDMA version of the iPhone 4 and 5 and Verizon confirms they are making network changes to bring the iphone to their network. The new iPhone 5 is going to be loaded with awesome new features like video chat on 3g and 4g (no longer restricted to WiFi only), face recognition and extreme downloading. (List of possible features below). Just when you think there is nothing else to come up with, more and more and more technology comes out. And it is on the rise, and not just at Apple, Inc!This iPhone 5 will have dual core processors and higher and powerful graphic chips that can deliver higher video resolutions and better "still" images when taking pictures, AND it will make multi-tasking a breeze.
There are a few networks working on building a 4G network. T-mobile would be a likely carrier since they are GSM already. Sprint has a 4G network already... AT&T and Verizon Wireless are in the beginning stages. There are talks of Verizon Wireless getting iPhone sometime in 2010 but it looks like they will get it for sure in 2011 when the new iPhone 5 comes out.
Whether or not it will be 4G will be up to them!... can they build in time? They will definitely have the 3G version of iPhone, but with the new iPhone 5 (4g speeds) coming out, will they compete?! Regardless, there is much anticipation on how many people will leave AT&T for Verizon Wireless because of AT&T's lagging on app restrictions like Slingplayer and Google Voice and Skype (on 4g network, not Wi-Fi).
AT&T's restrictions have caused the percentage of people that are JailBreaking their iPhones to rise since Jail Breaking usually comes with Cydia which is the app store for jail broken phones. Most of the applications, ringtones, and even iphone themes!...are free with Cydia. Winterboard is part of the download, and it very easily add's the changes to your phone so you dont have to figure how to do it on your own...it is VERY automated.
The Palm Pre on Sprint and HTC EVO (Sprint now offering a 4G network) has made an attempt at being competitive with iPhone and Blackberry...and it seems they are making head way, although with the iPhone 4 released and the iPhone 5 on the way, they are sure to lose. Oh ya, the Blackberry Torch? = Nice try... but that browser is NOT full HTML.
iPhone 5 looks promising in terms of being sleek, packed with new hardware and finally less restrictions. Very exciting.

But I finally managed to find this very nice and hang application, called blogpres.It can post to many blog services. It is simple and to the point. I have used it for few days and so far I'm happy with it functionality.

Looxcie Wearable Camcorder Now Supports The iPhone
iPhone users might have been disappointed that the $199 ear-mounted Looxcie camera only supported Android when it was first released, meaning that they would need to look for an alternate solution if they wanted a gadget that could easily capture what was going on in their day and share it via their phone.The good news is that the company has announced the release of the iOS app for this device, allowing you to hit the instant clip button and capture the last 30 seconds of video and store it on the device. When paired with an iPhone, the phone is capable of functioning as a viewfinder and also an accessory that allows users to share the video clips via email, Facebook or YouTube.

Video Recorder Interface Found Hidden in iPhone 3.0 Firmware
Not activated by default, an interface with video recording option has been found in the latest iPhone 3.0 beta firmware. The interface can be activated by modifying the configuration files, although it is not usable with the current iPhone or iPhone 3G.
The final iPhone 3.0 firmware is said to be fully supported by a new iPhone that will be announced in June. Other possible capabilities found in the beta firmware include “video editing”, “video uploading”, “auto-focus camera”, “magnetometer” (digital compass) and “Voice Control”.
