Samsung has announced that Galaxy Nexus will make its Canadian debut tomorrow via Rogers, Fido and Telus telecom operators, while SaskTel, Mobilicity, WIND Mobile and Videotron are also soon going to release the phone. Seems like all the Canadian telcos are going to launch the latest Nexus phone.

Samsung India has officially announced the launch of Galaxy Tab 620, which is better known as Tab 7.0 plus internationally. Galaxy Tab 620 is already available in the market, and has been priced at an MRP of INR 30,250, although you can grab it for as low as INR 26,499 at Flipkart or INR 25,900 at Letsbuy.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 620 features 1.2GHz dual core processor, 7 inch PLS display, 3MP rear camera, 2MP front camera, 16GB of internal storage, 1GB of RAM, Android 3.2 with Touchwiz UX for tablets and HSPA+ connectivity. It also comes with IR blaster, voice-calling support as well as DLNA certification.

As expected, the real white Galaxy Nexus is simply a white housing with a white back battery and not the fully white render of ours that the tech world spread seemingly everywhere yesterday. As someone that owns the white Nexus S, this is exactly how I envisioned the device to look, and man does it looks pretty. Samsung going with the all black front as to not disrupt the beautiful infinity look of that massive 4.65″ screen was a smart decision.

Digging white devices lately? Yeah, for some crazy reason, so am I. It’s always nice to shy away from the everyday black slate once in a while and it looks like the trend is still catching on. The Galaxy S II overseas and in the states went white not too long ago and now it looks like the Galaxy Nexus will be following suit around February. Next month we’ll see a few different carriers starting out in the UK receive a white G-Nex such as Clove and MobileFun. Looks like the price will be the same as the black slate for the 16GB model and will be offered for £498.00 on the 6th at Clove and a few days earlier on the 3rd at MobileFun for £519.95. You have to love when ads leak. This one is from Sprint and it shows off the Galaxy Nexus as their first 4G LTE phone. It showed up on the CNET website shortly after Dan Hesse tweeted that Atlanta, Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio would be the first LTE markets for Sprint by mid-year.  

There’s another twist though. One of the ads clearly states that it has a 1.5GHz dual-core processor. If you remember, this was supposedly the original plan for the Galaxy Nexus, but they went with a 1.2GHz dual-core instead due to a delay in the TI OMAP 1.5GHz chip. This sounds very plausible now as Sprint probably won’t release their version until later in the year. Hopefully we will get our hands on this bad boy next week at Sprint’s special event during CES. We will certainly let you know more as soon as we hear it.

The Samsung Galaxy S II is already one of the better Android smartphones currently available and it is no surprise that Samsung wants to release a newer version of the phone equipped with the latest hardware. The latest rumors suggest Samsung is expected to introduce the Galaxy S III during Mobile World Congress 2012, which is an appropriate place to announce a phone of this magnitude.
ETNews is a Korean magazine with complete information on Samsung’s plans for the Galaxy S III. In terms of processor type, it is expected to feature a quad-core Exynos processor, which would definitely be a big upgrade over the 1.2 or 1.5GHz dual-core found in its phones today. Other specs include 2GB of RAM, 720p Super AMOLED Plus display, Android 4.0, LTE, and a potential 12MP camera.
In case those specs aren’t enough to persuade you to purchase a Galaxy S III, Samsung is working hard to incorporate 3D technology in the phone to make it even more enticing. The 3D functionality would be worked into its display, video and photo capture, but also integration with a 3D television.
Of course, we’re going to have to wait until MWC 2012 in late February before we know for sure whether Samsung is going to announce its new flagship Android smartphone or not.

We learned a few days ago that Samsung was going to readdress the Galaxy S and Galaxy Tab problem in terms of upgrading it to Android 4.0. Previously, it announced to the public that it was going to upgrade these two devices to Android 4.0 because of the older hardware being used. Unfortunately for Samsung, this announcement caused widespread backlash on the company as customers want to purchase a phone from a manufacturer that has a strong history of upgrading their phones to newer Operating Systems.
Even though Samsung promised to re-examine the situation, it looks like they may be taking the easy route and simply upgrading the version of Gingerbread the Galaxy S and Tab are running to reflect some of the Ice Cream Sandwich features. Samsung is calling this upgrade of Gingerbread a “Value Pack.” The Value Pack will contain features such as multi-tasking improvements, faster web access, and new widgets.
It’s clear that the owners of the Galaxy S and the Galaxy Tab want to be brought up to speed with Android Ice Cream Sandwich, but Samsung seems unwilling to expend so many resources on making this a reality. I am sure we will find out in a few weeks how Samsung plans to handle the Android 4.0 situation, but at least they are willing to do something for the customers with the Value Pack upgrade.

The image of black AT&T variant is circulating on the web, which means it should be launched soon. The Samsung Galaxy Note has enough screen space for much of what a tablet does but it retains full smartphone functionality. If you happen to own a device from the Samsung Galaxy range, then you might be pleased to hear that Samsung has officially stepped forward to announce the time frame as to when the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update will be released to select devices. It seems that the Samsung Galaxy S II as well as the Samsung Galaxy Note will be on the receiving end of Ice Cream Sandwich sometime in Q1 2012, which is a 3 month wait at the worst when you think about it. As for the other slew of devices which are tipped to be on the receiving end of the update, they are the Samsung Galaxy S II LTE, Galaxy R, Galaxy Tab 10.1, Galaxy Tab 8.9, Galaxy Tab 7.7 and Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus. These will only get Ice Cream Sandwich goodness after the Galaxy S II and Galaxy Note receives theirs, so it remains to be seen whether that would mean a Q2 2012 release, or if the first two devices get theirs in January, then a Q1 release is also not too far off on the horizon. Samsung claims that update availability will be subject to region and carrier requirements, so folks living in the US will need to make sure that the carriers will offer said updates.

This is a totally sexy phone, the new Verizon Galaxy Nexus looks like a solid smartphone with some great features. Though smartphone prices and plans are still way too overpriced for me to justify owning one. Even the thicker LTE version feels very thin in the hand. The form factor is perfect, very comfortable to hold. The form factor is perfect. Felt much smaller than my Infuse in hand, yet the screen was 4.65 inches vs my Infuse‘s 4.5. The soft touch back is perfect. For starters, I like 4.0′s big "clean" dial pad. And it’s also easy to dial from any of my contacts, as they culled from all sources (personal Gmail, company email via Exchange, Facebook, G+). "Typical" LTE battery life i.e. widely variable depending on usage, AT BEST a whole day on one charge. Overall this is one amazing device none-the-less.

Damn you AT&T! I’ve been waiting for this phone. The new Samsung Galaxy Note coming to AT&T’s lineup sometime in early 2012. People say the screen is too big. It’s actually not, unless you have very small stature. On the contrary, it’s absolutely perfect for anyone who spends time on their phone, be it typing mails, browsing the Internet, or anything else. The new Samsung Galaxy Note cell phone features include a 5.3-inch Super AMOLED screen with 800 x 1280 pixels (WXGA), an 8-megapixel rear camera, a 2-megapixel front-facing camera, 1.4 GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, HSPA+ and LTE connectivity, a 2,500 mAh battery and Android 2.3 Gingerbread. The Galaxy Note which will be sold by AT&T will be a little bit different from the internationally-launched version. Only thing I will say is AT&T is going to remove the physical home button which I think is a huge mistake but, makes me feel good I spent the money on the international version.

Samsung Australia’s mobile chief confirmed that the lawsuit with Apple did more good than harm to them. Tyler McGee says the lawsuit was followed by an extensive media coverage that helped Galaxy Tab 10.1 to become a “household name.” Samsung got the green signal from the court last week to sell Galaxy Tab 10.1 in Australia and according to McGee, it will hit the shelves later this week which could face a short supply against the demand.

Samsung’s Galaxy Tab 10.1 may have become a “household name” in Australia but the Korean giant is trying every tactic in the book to attract the attention of the Aussie consumers. In an published in a newspaper, Samsung is pitching its 10.1-inch tablet as the one that “Apple tried to stop.” We’ll let you be the judge of Samsung’s way of marketing but it seems their message has been conveyed to the readers.

The wait is finally over for the Americans as Verizon Wireless has announced the release of the first Android 4.0 phone. Starting today, users will be able to buy Galaxy Nexus (SCH-I515) from Verizon for $299.99 on contract or for just $155 if you buy via Let’s Talk with coupon code $75VZN. Few differences between the Verizon and the international variant is the support for LTE, is slightly thicker and heavier and comes with an 1850mAh battery.

Other features include a 4.65-inch Super AMOLED HD display with curved glass, 1.2GHz dual-core CPU, 5MP camera with zero shutter lag, full HD video playback and recording support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and Ice Cream Sandwich features like Face Unlock, Android Beam etc.

Even though Samsung has yet to announce the availability of the Gingerbread upgrade for the 7-inch Galaxy Tab, it appears that owners of the tablet are now allowed to download the update in India. Several users have already reported that the update, baseband version P1000DDJP4, is now available for download via Samsung Kies desktop software.

Samsung India confirmed the Gingerbread upgrade for Galaxy Tab tablets since May, but for unknown reasons the update was delayed until August.

It appears that the first country to get the update was Italy, followed closely by UK, which received Gingerbread for the original Galaxy Tab last month.

Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread is the latest major update for the original Galaxy Tab, before Samsung will push the Honeycomb upgrade.

Although the Korean handset maker has yet to confirm Honeycomb for the 7-inch tablet, it is likely that the upgrade won't make it on the market by the end of the year.

Samsung's Galaxy Tab 7 tablet is the first Android tablet launched on the market, but it was delivered with Froyo on board, which was not optimized to work on larger screens.

Given the fact that Google delayed the release of the Honeycomb for 7-inch tablets for quite a lont time, the original Galaxy Tab failed to become as popular as other tablets launched with Android 3.0 out-of-the-box.

Indian owners of the original Galaxy Tab should download and install the latest version of Samsung Kies before searching for the Gingerbread upgrade.

In addition, it is recommended to make a back up of the data stored on the tablet prior to upgrading to Gingerbread.

Unfortunately, the lack of an official statement and change log for the current update leaves us with little to comment, but as soon as Samsung makes any announcements, we will update the story.

Samsung and NVIDIA have just officially announced the Galaxy R, the latest handset in the Galaxy family. Sporting a 4.2 inch Super Clear LCD display, NVIDIA’s blazing fast Tegra 2 dual-core processor, and 5 megapixel camera, the Galaxy R is a slightly modified variant of the Galaxy S 2 that will likely ship with a lower price tag when it debuts Known as the Galaxy Z in Sweden, where it’s currently available now, the Galaxy R only slightly differs from the Galaxy S 2. While it’s basically impossible to call anything with the Tegra 2 CPU low-end, the Galaxy R is slightly thicker, swaps out the Super AMOLED Plus display for the Super Clear LCD, and a couple of other tweaks that keep the handset as powerful as possible, all while bringing the price down. Of course, we have no official pricing to speak of, so nothing is set in stone.

Sprint and Samsung today announced the Conquer 4G, a new Android 2.3 Gingerbread smartphone that works on Sprint's WiMax 4G network. It has a 3.5-inch HVGA (320 x 480) display, 1GHz processor, and offers a 3.2 megapixel main camera with flash, and 1.3 megapixel user-facing camera. The Conquer 4G will include Sprint iD, which offers users bundled themes and software for their Android devices. The Conquer 4G will have the mobile hotspot feature, as well as GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and support for microSD cards up to 32GB. The FCC approved this handset in April with CDMA in the ESMR 800MHz band, 850MHz band, and the 1900MHz band, making it a tri-band CDMA device. The ESMR support means the Conquer 4G will eventually be able to use voice services on Sprint's 800MHz spectrum when it transitions iDEN off that spectrum. The Conquer 4G will be available for $99.99 after rebate starting on August 21.
