New FOMA SH706iw launched in Japan is based on Symbian OS
Symbian Limited welcomes NTT DOCOMO’s launch of the FOMA SH706iw based on Symbian OS which starts shipping in Japan this week. The FOMA SH706iw, a handset which supports the well-being and dietary requirements of users and works in conjunction with a health support website. It’s manufactured by Sharp Corporation and includes the MOAP platform which is compliant with the latest FOMA specifications.

Sharp 923SH
Sharp’s 923SH has one of the most incredible displays! Have a close look at the display specifications and you can see that it is out of this world: 3.3″ LCD with a 480 x 845 pixel format!!! Compare it to the iPhone’s 3.5″ with just 320 x 480 LCD and you can see that Sharp’s 923SH has more than double the number of pixels in a slightly smaller display. Wow.The clambshell mobile phone is angular and has that minimalist Euro-look to it. Of course there is nothing minimal about what it can do. Back to the display. It can swivel so when you want to watch TV via the 1-Seg tuner, you can watch it in wide format. Cool.
Want to take a picture? Well, you won’t need to bring your digital camera. The 923SH has a 5.2MP digital camera built-in. Not only that it has image stabilization to get clearly pictures even when your hands are not completely still. But.

Disney And Sharp Conjure Up The Cinderella Phone
The great dust storms generated by extended bouts of enthusiastic synergetic backslapping in Japan have finally cleared to reveal the fruits of a Walt Disney and Sharp mobile phone collaboration.Being prepped for a June 7th offensive into adolescent handbags all over the Land of the Rising Sun is the new Walt Disney/Sharp DM002SH phone, known as the Cinderella phone.
The none-more-girly clamshell handset comes in three sparkly finishes, described as Clear Crystal, Brown Topaz, and Pink Diamond.
Lurking inside the ladyphones can be found a fairly reasonable 2.6 inch internal display sporting a WQVGA resolution (400×240 pixel), backed by a 0.5 inch external OLED display.
Internal memory stands at 50MB - enough for a few tunes and photos taken on the 2MP camera - with a microSD slot allowing near endless R’n'B listening pleasure on the move.
Rounding up the spec sheet is Bluetooth and a 1Seg Tuner. We have to admit we didn’t know what a 1seg tuner was, but a brief rummage around the web informed us that it’s a Japan-only mobile terrestrial digital audio/video and data broadcasting service, which started up in April 2006. New Sharp Phone with full QWERTY
The new cell phone that will be released by Sharp in Japan sometime in spring, is a great model coming with a full QWERTY keyboard, a large 3.50-inch display of 260,000 pixels and 480 x 854 pixels resolution, and a built-in 2MP camera.
Sharp 922H will support 1-Seg, roaming, HSDPA and Bluetooth connectivity technology, all these in nice finish housing colored in Metallic Black, Pearl White, Pearl Pink and Bronze Gold.
I haven’t seen an ugly Sharp phone ever and this one is from the coolest models, measuring 56 x 116 x 17 mm with 132 grams weight.
