Samsung G810 smartphone is best yet with GPS, 5-megapixel camera and Wi-Fi
Samsung's G810 is geared up to be its most heavily-featured mobile yet with smartphone functionality, GPS sat nav capaibility, and a top-end 5-megapixel camera onboard.
The G810 is Samung's second mobile to feature a 5-megapixel camera with a 3x optical zoom. But the latest model beefs up the spec over the G800's with a slick design that includes a built in GPS receiver, Wi-Fi and Symbian S60 smartphone operating system.
The G810 has 3G HSDPA connectivity too, capable of data download speeds of up to 3.6Mbps on mobile networks. It has a full web browser, plus Google Maps for Mobile software inside for location finding and navigation. With its smartphone capability, users can also personalise the specs of the phone by downloading additional software applications.
With an integrated GPS receiver, the G810 is equipped for full satellite navigation and location finding, and also allows for geo-taggging of images taken with the high-qulaity camera.
The sliderphone has a sleek brushed metal casing and sports a large 2.6-inch TFT screen for displaying images and other content. The 5-megapixel camera has a similar functionality to that used in the G800, including its internal 3x zoom mechanism and face detection autofocus technology.
Music fans will be pleased to hear that Samsung has included a standard 3.5mm headphone jack too in the design, making it easy to upgrade earphones.
The G810 is expected to go on sale in Europe from March 2008.
