How to Install
1. Make sure you have the latest version of Colloquy.
2. Download the beta Web Interface plugin.
3. Install the plugin in: ~/Library/Application Support/Colloquy/PlugIns
4. Create a new password that will be used to login from Mobile Safari. Type the following command in Terminal.app with your password at the end:
defaults write info.colloquy WebInterfacePassword <
5. Open or relaunch Colloquy.
6. Visit http://yourip:6667 in Mobile Safari on your iPhone or iPod touch.
7. Enter the password you created earlier.
FAQ
Q: How do I connect to my computer from EDGE or from another WiFi LAN?
A: You will need to open and forward the 6667 port to your computer. Refer to the manual of your router or portforward.com on how to do this. You will also need to connect to the public IP address of your Mac, you can find your public IP here.
Q: How do I see all the channels I have joined?
A: You can scroll the channel list with two fingers.
Q: How do I see the conversation history that has scroll off the top of the screen?
A: You can scroll the conversation history with two fingers.
Q: Can I change the port used?
A: You can change the port with the following command in Terminal.app:
defaults write info.colloquy WebInterfacePort 8080
You will need to relaunch Colloquy. The port also needs to be greater than
1023 and less than 65535.
Q: Why can't I type when in the landscape orientation?
A: The text input field is hidden while in the landscape orientation since the
keyboard takes up too much screen space to be useful.
