Motorola A1600 Official Specs

Motorola A1600 Official SpecsMotorola A1600, also known as MotoMing 2, is one of the new Moto phones ready to be launched in the following months. Until now, there were only unconfirmed details about its features, but today we have its official specifications and also the markets were it will be released. Although rumors said the A1600 would only be available in China, its official developer reference sheet.

Moto A1600 will also be released in other South-Eastern Asian countries (except Korea, we don't know why), in India, Europe, the Middle East and Africa. North and South America are not among the regions to get the phone, so users from there who might have wished to own an A1600 can say goodbye to it.

The official specs of Motorola A1600 generally coincide with those leaked until now. The phone comes in a clamshell form factor, it weighs 120 grams and, when closed, measures 95.5 x 52.3 x 17.5 millimeters. Running on a Linux-based mobile interface, A1600 features a 2.4 inch TFT touchscreen display (with 262K colors, 240 x 320 pixels, handwriting and optical character recognition), GPS and A-GPS, a 3.0 Megapixel camera with auto focus, LED flash, macro mode, 8x digital zoom and video recording, Music player, Video player, Bluetooth 2.0, miniUSB, business card reader, talking dictionary, WAP 2.0, Java MIDP 2.0, pre-installed games and microSD card support to extend the internal memory up to 4GB.

Unfortunately, the A1600 is not 3G enabled, offering only quad-band GSM connectivity (850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900) with GPRS and EDGE. Moreover, it also lacks Wi-Fi, a feature that was rumored to come with the phone.

All in all, the new Moto A1600 is interesting and has a couple of nice features. With a good price, the handset can be quite successful, both in Asia and in Europe. Let's wait now for its release, which should come in the upcoming weeks / months.
