Motorola Red Phone
Pininfarina Extra is a famous company dedicated to design, engineering anf manufacturing of niche vehicles on the automotive scene, and focuses on innovating product and interior designs. It created superb imaging for Ferrari, Alfa Romeo and Maserati. The Motorola i877r cell phone is designed by Pininfarina in a rich red clamshell style, and the first American wireless carrier that introduces it is SouthernLINC Wireless, at a price of $230.
“While we all can't drive a fast, luxurious Italian sports car, SouthernLINC Wireless customers can get the look and high performance of one in their wireless phone,” said Bob Dawson, president and chief executive officer of SouthernLINC Wireless. “In fact, we are the only wireless provider in the United States currently selling the new Motorola i877 phone. We're proud to bring the best in design innovation to our customers in the Southeast.”
This modern Motorola red phone is powered by a CPU model 30 times faster than previous iDEN handsets. Motorola’s technology means integrated Digital Enhanced Network, and is meant to deliver 5 services in one device to improve communication: digital wireless telephony, nationwide and international two-way radio, packet data for Internet access, two-way e-mail and text messaging, and wireless modem capabilities. To accomplish these, Motorola used highly spectrum-efficient radio transceivers to digitize and process high volumes of voice and data through a single channel, based on the time division multiple access technology for multiple access, and resulting in high voice quality, low latency, dependable communications and instant access. TDMA allows multiple users to share the same frequency channel by dividing the signal into different time slots, so each user to have his own time slot.
“Pininfarina Extra ensured the i877r included sleek features and content,” said Julie Pigott, vice president of marketing and customer support at SouthernLINC Wireless. “The i877 delivers a truly immersive experience unlike any other iDEN handset currently on the market. We know that SouthernLINC Wireless customers – particularly those who are design or automobile aficionados – will appreciate the stylish functionality of this new phone.”
