KT770, a Symbian S60-based LG slider cell phone
Following the example of other major companies, LG decided to take advantage of their presence at the 2009 edition of the Mobile World Congress and to officially present their latest smartphones, such as LG KT770, LG Arena KM900 and LG GM730.
The novelty consists of the fact that the KT770 is equipped with the Symbian S60 3rd edition, compared to the other two smartphones I mentioned above which run on the Microsoft Windows Mobile. This is a little bit surprising for an LG product, because the Symbian operating system isn’t available on many devices.
There is a special LG website dedicated to the MWC, which is a little bit difficult to use, if I may say so, where you can find the details you’d like to know about the devices the South Korean company prepared for the event.
In the given context, as far as the features are concerned, the KT770 comes equipped with: quad band GSM/EDGE connectivity (850/900/1800/1900 MHz), dual band UMTS/HSDPA connectivity (850/2100 MHz or 900/2100 MHz), a 2.8 inch TFT WQVGA display with a resolution of 240x400 pixels and 256k colors, a 5 megapixel camera with autofocus, facial recognition, smile shot and panorama shot, an integrated assisted GPS, Wi-Fi connectivity, full Internet browser, an internal memory of 1GB/2GB and microSD card slot for expandable memory of no more than 16GB. The new LG slider cell phone measures 111x51.5x15.8 millimeters.
The point is the phone looks quite good, but we hope that the price won’t be too high. As far as the availability is concerned, the LG KT770 is expected to start selling in the next couple of months.
