Samsung Infuse 4G launching on AT&T on May 15th for $199.99
When the Samsung Infuse 4G was announced way back at CES, we learned that it would feature a 4.5-inch Super AMOLED Plus display, 1.2GHz processor, and 21Mbps 4G connectivity. What we didn't find out, though, is exactly when the superphone would actually launch. The Infuse 4G has teased us by appearing both in the FCC and a Walmart ad, but today AT&T and Samsung finally came clean about when we can get our paws on the device. The Samsung Infuse 4G will be available from AT&T on Sunday, May 15th for $199.99 with a two-year contract.
Besides the 4.5-inch 800x480 Super AMOLED Plus screen and 1.2GHz single-core Hummingbird CPU found on the Infuse 4G, you can also expect an 8-megapixel camera with 720p video capture, 1.3-megapixel front-facing shooter, 16GB of internal storage, a body that's 8.99mm thin (9.24mm at its thickest point), a special version of Angry Birds, and Android 2.2 (with sideloading!) beneath Samsung's TouchWiz UI. Additionally, the first 500,000 Infuse 4Gs will include a $25 credit for use with Samsung's Media Hub.
Although it's kind of a bummer that we've had to wait a little over four months since the Infuse 4G's debut to actually see the handset launch, I'm pretty excited to finally see 4.5-inch land. Of course, that large size has the potential to alienate a lot of potential customers, but I also think that there'll be more than a few folks who end up buying the Infuse simply because it's so big. So, which of you plan on checking out the Infuse 4G when it arrives later this month?
