NTT DoCoMo Launching Consumer BlackBerry Service in August
NTT DoCoMo has announced today that it will launch Research In Motion's BlackBerry Internet Services in Japan for the first time on August 1st. The service will only be available for the BlackBerry 8707h, which was launched last year.
The BlackBerry Internet Service allows individuals access to push email without the need for a corporate IT account. The BlackBerry Internet Service from NTT Docomo will cost 3,045 yen (US$28.50) per month, in addition to regular monthly fees for voice and messaging.
The BlackBerry 8707h features a full QWERTY keyboard and quad-band GSM (850/900/1800/1900MHz) support, along with WCDMA (2100MHz) for high-speed data access. A QVGA display and handy thumb wheel allow for quick navigation through the phone's various menus.
