O2 Jet talk-targeted frill-free phone flies in
UK carrier O2 has launched Jet, the business-oriented, voice-centric handset Reg Hardware exclusively revealed in June this year. The new phone's key feature? A talk time just shy of ten hours, the cellco claimed.
As anticipated, Jet is camera-free. It has a quad-band GSM/GPRS radio for networking and Bluetooth 2.0 for device connectivity. The 121g handset sports a 2in, 65,536-colour display to show off the device's "simplified user interface and streamlined functionality", as O2 puts it, that includes POP and IMAP email support.
The carrier today confirmed Jet will ship with a desktop charging cradle in the box - O2 sees the handset as a land-line alternative - and an in-car kit.
Jet's talk time comes courtesy of a 1,600mAh battery which also yields 540 hours' operation in stand-by mode.
Jet's launch comes two months after O2 unveiled Ice, an own-brand handset aimed at consumers. The new phone costs £60 on pay-as-you-go, or at a range of prices depending on monthly contract and airtime package
