Vodafone Germany confirms GSmart t600 - the phone with full mobile TV ( DVB-T )
While England was disqualified form Euro 2008 football championships by small mediterranean (neighbor of Italy) country of Croatia, Germany has 100% chances to go outside of their group and has big chances to become Europe champion in 2008! In other words: it is big boon for mobile operators in Germany to offer mobile TV... and with DVB-T no additional costs are incured so DVB-T phones will be hot topic in Germany in May and June...
Quality of TV broadcast in t600, thanks to DVB-T and VGA display is stunningly good:
There are only 2 mobile phones with DVB-T support in the world nowadays : LG HB620T and GIGA-BYTE GSmart t600 but only t600 is Windows Mobile powered and only t600 offers high-resolution display: 640x480 pixels, what is crucial particularly for above mentioned football games.
Unfortunately the pricing of t600 at Vodafone will not be very advantageous - 300 euro plus 40 euro a month for 24 months... so it will not be very popular because it is a lot of money! The unsubsidized price of t600 at Vodafone is not known yet.
