Well news is news as they say, and here’s a small bit of news, The Sony Ericsson W580i Walkman mobile phone is now available in Red. That’s about it really, told you it was only a small bit of news. Sony Ericsson has the W580i mobile phone in quite a few colours, and they seem to just keep adding.

The red Sony Ericsson W580i Walkman is no different to any of the other colours in the range, inside it has a 2 megapixel camera with 4x zoom, Walkman player with shake control, Bluetooth 2.0 A2DP, AT&T music folder, FM Radio with customizable station presets, Multimedia messaging, Mobile email - AOL, Yahoo! and MSN, quad-band 850/900/1800/1900 MHz, 240 x 320 pixel TFT screen, GSM/GPRS/EDGE, Music formats MP3, AAC, AAC+, eAAC+, measure 3.9 x 1.85 x .5 inches and weighs 3.3 ounces.

Without 3G it is fairly hard to justify the $99.00 after rebate and contract AT&T are demanding for the Sony Ericsson W580i in its newest colour, and somewhat ironically the 3G equipped Z750a is actually sold for $50.00 less, so what AT&T are up to I don’t know. But to be fair to AT&T any colour in the Sony Ericsson W580i range is $99.00 so all it really means is the red version isn’t anything special, it’s just another colour added to the Walkman fold.
