3 New ROKR : MOTOROKR EM30, ROKR EM28, ROKR EM25
Motorola added 3 new mobile handset models to its modern ROKR line of music phones, to offer more style options to its customers.
There is the MOTOROKR EM30 music phone, a candybar handset featuring the ModeShift technology from Motorola, the ROKR EM28 clamshell sporting touch-sensitive keys, and the ROKR EM25 slider coming with built-in FM radio sharing.
“Following the path of our award-winning ROKR E8, the newest additions to our ROKR family make listening to and discovering new music accessible and affordable for everyone,” said Steve Lalla, corporate vice president, mass market, Motorola Mobile Devices. “From uncovering new music with friends through our FMShare feature to enjoying surround-sound quality audio, these new ROKR phones deliver the music you want whenever, wherever and however you want to hear it.”At the first glance, the MOTOROKR EM30 looks stunning, with black and red color lines and a round metallic center button that adds a plus of style. Motorola models use the ModeShift technology especially designed for the music mode, which activates at a touch of a button illuminating the keypad and creating a special effect.
Other cool features of this cell phone include 8GB microSD card support for expanding the memory and add more songs, 3.5 mm stereo headphones slot, Bluetooth wireless transfers, and the CristalTalk sound technology that eliminates the background noises.
It provides up to 360 minutes of talk time, 300 hours of standby, multiple audio format support, text-to-speech recognition, airplane mode, Windows Media Player 11, and a built-in 2MP camera with no less than 8x digital zoom.
Next, there is the ROKR EM28, a model with enhanced audio system, touch keys that light up when you activate the music player, the SONGID technology providing details about the current track you are listening to, and no less than 11 hours of music playback, using a 940mAH battery. During this time you can play with 11 pre-set music genres, equalizer settings, and boost the bass up to 9 dB.
The music phone comes also with 3D sound effects, spatial audio and bass boost, audio equalizer and CrystalTalk technology, FM radio with RDS, airplane mode, universal 3.5 mm headset jack, speakerphone, as well as other functionalities in addition to the music capabilities. These include up to 2GB storage via a microSD card, a built-in 1.3MP camera with 4x digital zoom, video recording and video streaming, plus multiple audio codecs support, Internet browser, Java games, cool backgrounds and screensavers.
It sports a 1.8-inch display of 65K colours, as well as an external mono screen of 1.2 inches. The Bluetooth with A2DP is not missing so you can listen to the stereo sounds wirelessly using a Bluetooth-enabled headset.
The last music phone launched by Motorola is ROKR EM25, the slider with dedicated music keys, album art, and the FMShare feature that allows you to share your favorite radio clips with others via the text message3. It supports up to 2GB extra memory via a microSD card, providing 11 hours of music playback, 490 minutes of talk time, and Bluetooth wireless technology.
There is a built-in 1.3MP camera like in the previous described model, Java games, CrystalTalk technology, and other cools functionalities like SONGID, which displays the song details.
Motorola ROKR EM30 will be released in Taiwan first, with the other countries to follow by the end of the year, while the ROKR EM28 and ROKR EM25 will come out in stores this autumn. All 3 Motorola models will be available at affordable prices, according to the company’s press release, and we’ll know more about this later this year.
