AT&T's line-up of affordable phones seems to grow quickly lately, as after the arrival of Sony Ericsson W350 and LG Invision, a new pretty basic handset is prepared to be released. The phone in question is Nokia 2680 Slide.

As its name suggests, this new Nokia comes in a slider form factor. What the name does not let us guess is the fact that, feature-wise, the 2680 Slide has nothing to make users excited about. Even so, the handset will soon hit AT&T's shelves. We don't know this from the North American carrier, but from the FCC, which has recently approved the slider and posted several pictures with it and AT&T's logo on its front case.

The 2680 was first presented by Nokia at the beginning of April, together with the 1680 Classic candybar. The handset offers the following: dual-band GSM connectivity (850 / 1900 MHz for the US) with GRPS, MP3 player, Nokia Xpress Audio Messaging, FM radio with recorder, a 128 x 160 pixels TFT display with 65K colors, WAP browser, email, handsfree, "advanced calculator", organizer, a VGA photo camera, 32MB of built-in memory. No microSD card slot is included.
At a weight of 97 grams (3.42 ounces), Nokia 2680 Slide measures 99 x 47 x 14.8 millimeters (3.9 x 1.85 x 0.58 inches). The phone's battery is an 860 mAh said to provide up to 3.5 hours of talk-time or up to about 400 hours of stand-by time.

Back in April, Nokia said that the suggested retail price of 2680 Slide is of 75 Euros (around 110 USD). This means that, with a contract agreement, AT&T will probably offer the handset for free. Now, there is only the matter of its release date, which is, for the moment, a mystery bigger than the one of Atlantis' existence.
