Sony Ericsson G502 Turned Red
Fancy colors and mobile phones go "hand in hand" quite well, and that's why Sony Ericsson will soon be offering a new version of its G502 mid-end candybar –"celebrity red". The G502 is currently available in black and "brilliant hazel", so the new red color is more than welcomed, as it completely changes the phone's appearance.
There is no official info yet on the new G502, but according to the SEMC Blog, Sony Ericsson should make the red handset available in the near future.
Anyway, the Swedish-Japanese company has not completely dressed the candybar in the new color, as only its front case and a bit of its back case are red, the rest remaining black.
First appeared under the codename Sony Ericsson Emelie, the G502 was officially introduced at the end of April, at the same time as the Z780 clamshell.
Coming in a slim and elegant case, the (now also red) G502 is part of Sony Ericsson's Web-oriented family of devices, which also includes the G700 and G900. While the G700 and G900 are touchscreen handsets, the G502 is not, but it can still be a pretty good choice for users who are not that keen on having a device with a touch-enabled display.
The features of G502 Emelie include tri-band GSM connectivity (900 / 1800 / 1900 MHz) with GPRS and EDGE, HSDPA 2100 MHz connectivity, NetFront 3.4 browser, push email, RSS reader, a 2 inch TFT screen with 240 x 320 pixels and 256K colors, Google Maps, Media player, FM radio, Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP, a 2 MP camera with video, 3D games, 32MB of internal memory and support for Memory Stick Micro cards.
Measuring 103 x 46 x 13.5 millimeters and weighing 83.5 grams, Sony Ericsson G502 packs a 950 mAh Li-Po battery said to last up to 10 hours in talk-time mode or up to 340 hours in stand-by mode.
Currently, the retail price of G502 is of around 160 Euros (230 USD), so we should expect the price of its new red version to be similar.
