Sony Ericsson G705 Slider Leaked
Although it has canceled the G702 (codenamed BeiBei), Sony Ericsson did not give up on producing new handsets from the G-series. The proof is a brand new Sony Ericsson G705, recently appeared on the Web in lots of unofficial but good-looking pictures.
Unlike the other three G-series phones currently available on the market (G502, G700 and G900), which are all candybars, the G705 is a slider. Its overall design resembles the one of the W910 Walkman phone, but it brings more elegance and a nicer alphanumeric keypad.
There aren't too many details about the features of Sony Ericsson G705, but from the available images we can see that the handset will bring a 3.2 Megapixel camera with LED flash, fixed focus and video recording, as well as a front-facing camera for video calls.
The display of G705 seems to be a 2.4 inch one that (most probably) has 240 x 320 pixels and 262K colors. The new handset runs on an A2 platform (hence it is not a UIQ smartphone) and it's said to come with built-in GPS and Wi-Fi. If 3G and quad-band GSM connectivity are also included, then Sony Ericsson might have a new mid-end hit device in the G705.
Details about the official announcement of Sony Ericsson G705 are currently missing, as the source of the leaked images (the SE4m forum) doesn't mention anything about this. However, according to the Unofficial Sony Ericsson Blog, the G705 could be fully unveiled in mid-August, together with another new SE handset, namely the so-called Remi candybar.
All in all, it's surely good to see Sony Ericsson trying to come up with yet another set of new phones (after last week's presentation of W902, W595 and W302), so let's wait and see what August will bring exactly in terms of Swedish-Japanese handsets.
