Sony Ericsson's First 'Made In India' Phone Launched
Keeping the music lovers in its mind, Sony Ericsson has launched its first 'made in India', 'made for India' mobile phone -- the R300 Radio phone. Along with the FM frequency channels, Sony Ericsson R300 also comes with AM frequencies, a first for radio phones in India. R300 Radio is designed to have a clear radio look-and-feel.
"We are witnessing unprecedented growth in smaller towns and cities and plan to increase our geographic presence in such places with launch of the Radio phone R300. The growing popularity of the radio in the tier two and tier three cities has created a tremendous opportunity for penetrating such markets and we are confident that our new offering will be well received by our consumers," said Sudhin Mathur, general manager, Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications, India.
Offering you loud sound, the R300 Radio phone has dedicated radio speakers and 3D sound enhancement or volume boost. The preset channel buttons on the front lets you switch easily between your favourite stations. One can set it as an alarm clock or record any moments and play back to hear it again and again. You can even record your favourite song playing on radio by radio recorder.
The phone also features TrackID, wherein you can record a clip of a song from the radio and find out within seconds who sang it, the name of the track and which album it is from. With built-in VGA camera, R300 is a GSM/GPRS 900/1800/1900 phone.
Available in the choice of two colours options -- antique copper and steel black, Sony Ericsson R300 will be available at Rs 4,395. The company also said to launch the R306 soon in the market. Just like R300, R306 will also have AM and FM capabilities. It will also be equipped with added features like stereo speaker, dual display, 1.3 megapixel camera, video recording and much more.
