AT&T Pay-As-You-Go iPhone 3G?
Here we go and spoil it all for you. We will all be picking up the story of a certain Erica Sadun of TUAW who managed to insert a pay-as-you-go AT&T SIM card on an iPhone 3G. Everything worked out perfectly. The phone calls and the data were there. The phone has been activated with AT&T, whom with else, and it hasn’t been unlocked. Or so she says. And instead of letting you enjoy it everyone will talk about it until AT&T will do something drastic!
So, does that mean that all you have to do is get your pay-as-you-go card in, and the iPhone 3G will work just fine? Imagine people doing that to AT&T. Getting a $199 iPhone 3G, waiting a while and canceling the plan, paying the cancellation fee and switching to a PAYG SIM without having to unlock the phone.
Did anyone else “have” this problem? Are you happy with your PAYG iPhone 3G from AT&T? Enjoy it while it lasts.
