Sony Ericsson G705 live pics
Sony Ericsson is preparing to come up with two new handsets, codenamed Kumiko and Eian, which might represent a new direction in the company's way of designing products - a square-ish direction, if you want to call it something in particular.
Kumiko should be officially named Sony Ericsson G705 and it will come as the first slider from the Web-oriented Gseries family of handsets – which currently includes the G502, G700 and G900 models.
The new G705 has recently been spotted in lots of live images, found over at CellPhoneSail. These confirm the fact that the handset is quite an elegant one and, once commercially available, that it might attract many fashion-oriented mobile users. The known features of G705 include: an alphanumeric keypad that seems to be very user-friendly, a 3.2 Megapixel camera with flash and video recording (no auto focus), secondary camera for video calls, a 2.4-inch non-touchscreen display with 262K colors and 240 x 320 pixels, accelerometer, built-in GPS, Wi-Fi, and a Java-based interface like the one the C905 Cyber-shot relies on. No word yet on internal memory, but the handset surely supports Memory Stick Micro cards.
Sony Ericsson Eian is said to be the Walkman version of Kumiko / G705 (thus, it might be released under the name of Sony Ericsson W705). For the time being, there are no pictures available with the Eian, but the handset is rumored to have a form factor similar to the new Gseries slider. As for its features, these should also be like the ones of the G705, but with more goodies on the music side.
At the moment, there are no official details about neither of the phones, but it shouldn't take long for Sony Ericsson to fully present them. Until then, enjoy the new images with Kumiko / G705 (some might not like the phone's look, but that shouldn't be a problem for true fans):
