flyPhone and glowPhone, the Handsets to Please Kids and Parents
Needless to say, when one has children, one’s life changes dramatically – sometimes for the better, sometimes for the worse. In order to make it a bit easier for parents, and offer kids a really cool and age-appropriate phone, Firefly Mobile has designed two new models, the flyPhone and the glowPhone.
"At Firefly, we put the same focus on ease-of-use and child safety into the design of our glowPhone and flyPhone as we did with our original award-winning Firefly phone," said Firefly Mobile COO Kyle Cox in the official press release. "Both phones offer features that today's technologically advanced kids want and controls parents need to monitor usage and keep costs down."
If your kid’s age is between 5 and 8, then the glowPhone is the model you should consider choosing for him or her. It features dedicated Mom, Dad and emergency speed-dial keys, along with a five-way navigation key that allows scrolling through the phonebook or playing games. This phone has a full color screen, built-in games, and also customizable ringtones and wallpapers.
For children over 9-12 years of age, Firefly has the more advanced multimedia phone, the flyPhone. This model includes electro-luminescent morphing keypad that can switch automatically between a number keypad and game, MP3 or video controller, and also a built-in camera. Of course, being a multimedia phone, the flyPhone comes with MP3 player and FM radio. Furthermore, it also allows teens to chat and text, and offers them built-in games, ringtones, wallpapers and music, and video samples.
"To keep things affordable, parents can choose between flexible pay-as-you-go and monthly rate plans. When more minutes are needed, they can easily be added on the Firefly website," Cox added. "Best of all, no long-term contracts or activation fees are required."
