MOTOZINE ZN5 Now Available from T-Mobile
After releasing its ZN5 handset in Europe back in September, Motorola decided to make it available for North-Americans as well. The bar phone will be available exclusively for T-Mobile USA customers. MOTOZINE ZN5 is the high-end result of a joint-venture between the US-based company and Kodak, the well-known producer of digital imaging and printing products, such as cameras, digital frames, but also printers and photo software.
MOTOZINE ZN5 combines Motorola’s ModeShift technology, which relies on tactile responses to simulate key clicks, something very similar to Haptic feedback, and KODAK Imaging Technology. ZN5 has one of the fastest 5 Megapixel cameras on the market, as Motorola stated, and can be accessed quickly by simply sliding the lens cover.
The camera features the standard specs and functions of a high-end camera phone, like auto-focus for sharp, vivid pictures, Xenon flash, optimized settings for low light environments and red-eye reduction. Weighing only 114 grams (including battery), and measuring 118x50.5x12mm (16mm at camera lens), Motorola’s not-so-beefy phone fits perfectly in any pocket. Users don't need to worry about running low on space storage as the device comes with an 1 GB memory card, besides the 350 MB internal memory. Further improvements can be brought about with a better microSD card of up to 4GB.
Through the high-speed Wi-Fi or EDGE connectivity, full resolution pictures can be uploaded in one simple click to the KODAK Gallery. Moreover, users also have additional options for sharing, by sending over MMS, transferring to a computer via USB, showing slideshows on a TV (TV output/AV cable included in box), or using Bluetooth technology. Also, T-Mobile customers who purchase a ZN5 will receive 50 free prints from Kodak Gallery.
In phone mode, ZN5 features Motorola’s patented CrystalTalk technology to help callers hear and be heard, even when in noisy environments. The device runs on a Linux operating system, which gives users the possibility to take advantage of the free open source 3rd party applications. To show that the phone is also a complete messaging tool, ZN5 offers support for SMS, MMS, IM and personal e-mail.
MOTOZINE ZN5 is available starting this week at select T-Mobile retail stores and online on the carrier's website for $99.99 USD after a $100 USD mail-in rebate and a $150 USD instant discount.
