E1410 and E1117, new Samsung handsets
Samsung is one of those cell phones manufacturers that are very well known for their high-end handsets, but who are conscious about the importance the low-end area has when it comes to gain more and more customers. This means that the low-end cell phones were never neglected by the South Korean, as it perfectly understood that, in these difficult crisis times, the spectrum should be reconsidered.
That’s why the announcement of two new basic Samsung phones didn’t come as a surprise for anyone. Therefore, with the world in the middle of a deadlock that isn’t expected to be broke the next year, there are two entry level devices that won’t disappoint the public, the E1410 and the E1117. The new Samsung handsets aren’t equipped with multimedia features such as a photo camera or a MP3 player, so they are expected to start selling with prices under $100.
As for the technical specs of the Samsung E1410, they include: dual band GSM connectivity (900 / 1800 MHz) with GPRS, 1.63-inch CSTN display with a resolution of 128 x 128 pixels and 65k colors and an internal memory of just 4MB. Measuring 108 x 46 x 15.3 millimeters, 1000 mAh battery provides up to 11.5 hours of talk time and up to 546 hours of stand-by time.
Similar to E1410, the features of the E1117 include: dual band GSM connectivity (900 / 1800 MHz) with EDGE, 1.63-inch CSTN display with a resolution of 128 x 128 pixels and 65k colors, an integrated FM radio and an internal memory of 900Kb. Measuring 106.4 x 45 x 15.4 millimeters and weighing 79 grams, the 1000 mAh battery provides similar talk and stand-by times to the one of the previous device.
There are no details on the pricing and availability of these two new Samsung handsets at the moment, but the phones are expected to become available in the next couple of months.
