SAMSUNG UNVEILS THE SAMSUNG I8510 8 MEGAPIXEL CAMERA PHONE, CODENAME INNOV8
Samsung strikes again with a new high-end handset with powerful capabilities, trying to beat the Nokia N96 this time.
The new Samsung i8510 mobile phone, also called INNOV8, is the world’s first model running on Symbian operating system, with DivX certification to support high-quality DivX movie playback. Another powerful feature is the built-in 8MP camera with autofocus, image stabilizer, 30 fps video recording in VGA format and 120 fps in QVGA, flash, and the capability to capture images at up to 3264 x 2448 pixels. Does this mean it's the best camera phone of the moment?
There is also a secondary camera for video calls.
"Samsung INNOV8 users value video and image quality on their devices, and Samsung is dedicated to upholding their expectations of a superior multimedia experience,” said Younghee Lee, Vice President of Samsung Mobile Marketing Group. “Expanding the offering of Samsung mobile phones with DivX technology allows us to provide consumers with advanced media features and reliable high-quality.”From the press release we find out that the handset will be available next month delivering high-speed data transfers of up to 7.2 Mbps via the 3G HSDPA technology, a 2.8-inch TFT display of 16 million colors with accelerometer sensor for landscape mode, optical mouse, multimedia player, unlimited phone book entries and call records, up to 8GB expanded memory via a microSD card, 128MB RAM, up to 16GB internal memory, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP, email, push email, Instant Messaging, HTML, GPS, A-GPS, geo tagging, smart reader, auto-panorama shot, smile shot, blink shot, video editor, FM radio with RDS, and advanced mobile games like FIFA 2008.
Measuring 106.5 x 53.9 x 17.2 mm, Samsung INNOV8 powers from a 1200mAh Li-Ion battery that lasts no less than 8 hours and 30 minutes in talking mode or 310 hours in standby.
