Nokia 5610 to Hit the US on August 11

Nokia 5610 to Hit the US on August 11
Although Nokia 5610 is not among the newest handsets to come from the Finnish company, the US mobile users can't buy it yet, as it has not been released in the States. First believed to be launched in June, the 5610 will only be on sale starting August 11, offered by T-Mobile.

According to Cell Phone Signal, the delay of Nokia 5610 was caused by some signal reception problems, but these are gone now and the handset is ready to hit the shelves of T-Mobile's stores. Reportedly, the magenta carrier will offer the 5610 for $150 with a two-year contract agreement and after a 50-buck mail-in rebate.

Part of Nokia's XpressMusic family, the 5610 is a slider available in Europe since October last year. The features packed by the Finnish company in the 5610 make it quite a desirable mid-end device.

Coming with a futuristic design, Nokia 5610 offers the following: Music player with external control keys, dedicated audio chip for sharp sound, stereo FM radio, Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP, a 2.2 inch TFT display with 16 million colors and a QVGA resolution, a 3.2 Megapixel camera with auto focus, LED flash and video recording, Opera Mini browser, email, Instant Messaging, GSM and UMTS connectivity, 20MB of internal memory and a 2GB card.

The 5610 XpressMusic weighs 3.91 ounces (111 grams) and, when not slid, it measures 3.88 x 1.91 x 0.67 inches (98.5 x 48.5 x 17 millimeters). Its battery can keep it running for up to 22 hours when playing music, six hours in talk-time mode or 320 hours in stand-by mode.

Hoping that the August 11 release date is a real one, we must also mention that the 5610 will probably be available in the US in all of its color versions: red, blue and purple. The 5310 XpressMusic candybar, on sale via T-Mobile since the end of May, can be acquired in red, orange or purple; hence, there's no reason why the new 5610 shouldn't be released in more color versions, too.
