10,000 apps now available to iPhone users
There are now 10,000 apps available for iPhone users in the iTunes app store, including 2,420 freewares.
The number of iPhone apps surged in September 2008 when nearly 3,000 were submitted to the iTunes store, according to 148apps.com. For the past three months until November, the number hovered at around the 2,500 mark.
The site also said nearly a fourth (2,322) of the iPhone apps are games. Next are entertainment (1,117), utility (1,017, education (736) and productivity (516) apps.
